What is Christmas ????

 

Well is that time off the year and Christmas is rapidly approaching but the older i get the more i question the whole thing ..

To me now it seems little else than a excuse to get ads and excess rammed down our throats and heaven help you if you question the whole thing

Scrooge, Scrooge ,miserable git rings in my ears even as i write this

The pressure that is imposed on society is far worse than some excess cake or the fact that you smoke and yet it is rammed down our throats

well i say BAN Christmas and all the excess save a life

And i am sure so many suicides can be attributed to this time of the year

be it the parent that has to save for next years xmas before we have even finished this one or the people at this time who have no family

I don’t need the excuse of Christmas to give or care

to me Christmas has little to do with religion

it was a date that over the years has been moved around and around

nowhere is the exact date of Christ’s birth listed

It was a pagan mid winter festival that was moved along with the roman holiday to the 25 dec and over the years it stuck there

it is as false an occasion no more real than the fat red coated bloke who is simply a product of Coca cola and exported across the world ..
