Idiot ALERT WARNING WARNING

Just had this posted to my off the grid site , this is a gradute bloody hell what are they teaching them today . :

 

With "green energy", there seems to be an obsession with large industrial companies, and not self-sufficency. Here is a run-down of "green" sources, in light of personal usefulness. Solar-HA! What do you do when it is night, or when it rains? And what about people living in the higher latitudes, where the sun practi...cally doesn't even shine for half of the year. Solar is a joke. Wind? HA! Unless you're living in a tornado, you aren't going to have wind all of the time (there's also a reason people don't live in really windy places, not to mention all the harm to flying creatures caused from wind turbines). So that too is impractical. Biodiesel? HA! Aside from a person shooting themselves in the foot by converting their food source to electrical (or other means) of power, where is a normal person going to store drums and drums of smelly gunk? What source of energy is reliable, available to everyone all of the time, and doesn't deplete one's food source? GRAVITY.

 

• The technology that harnesses the power of gravity is very old and extremely underused. It can be found in that of a grandfather clock, or a better known version is Big Ben.   rather dismissive but hee we are all entitled to our opinoins eh ,i use solar and i live in the north the statement about solar panels is simply stupid most people use batteries to store power so when it is not sunnyyou have power stored wh...ich i run all our needs from. wind well i think the same here of course the wind does not blow all the time but once again batteries are used to store power, and as for flying animals Birds i use lighst attached to my wee genny and have had no trouble thankfully i reckon far more wildlife is kiled by transport cars buses trucks etc instaed of being down on people looking for a more simply life rejoice that they are at least tryingSee more

Thanks for your entry "Heaven". The judges thought this was
an excellent film, which unfortunately scored just outside the
shortlist. Visually mesmerising, fabulous soundtrack from Sally Hope and
one of my particular favourites I have to confess!



We should also have some news shortly about a new initiative we're
working on to try and get short films and film makers in front
of real audiences without having to incur the costs and jump through the
hoops of festivals and competitions. More on this soon.

Crossed Fingers , Brians goes wandering again

After the wonderful respose when my wee films were shown at the Loch Ness Film festival , two of my wee films Brains story and Blessed water are off on the next leg of the journey and crossed fingers they will be shown at the Celtic Media Festival in April next year 2011 .

living a simple green life here in the highlands ,i have the last solar panel on its way and have been busy sorting oot the SCRATCHY HEED FILM STUDIO with a new banner coming to finish it off,it is so good to see we now have 139 people following the wee studio

After the last hectic few weeks ,it felt good to be sitting next to a wee fire outside ,the smoke reaching high into the night sky
and just as i like to live my life it made its way slow and gentle towards the stars on this clear night.
To the east the moon climbs up and over the mountain summit and starts its gentle ark across the night sky ,the same journey it has done countless times over millions of years  and all at the exact distance so we are able on rare occasions to witness an eclipse ,truly one of natures wonders..

As i sat there dreaming of time and distance to the north a far off sound started to fill the wee glen
at first hard to make out but quickly i saw it was a huge skeen of geese at least 80 birds and as they drew closer the noise of their hectic and hurried journey filled my heart
I watched as they made their way South but never in a straight line more as a drunk trying  to make his way home
first this way then that , 3 geese were tailed of at the rear their voices chattering louder and louder as if asking those in front to please slow down
i watched in awe at this spectacle another of natures wonders then my heart soared at the sheer visual beauty as the birds all made their way across the face of the moon
as the last bird disappered south and out of view i looked at the ground and a few yards from the fire i noticed a layer of frost had started to cover all in its way the screen of the car covered as if in a million diamonds flickered under the light from the moon

For the next hour silence wonderful silence my mind drifting and racing but above all my thanks to the mountains of Scotland for all that they do .
From the east the  mist formed in the glen then drifted over towards the bus withing half an hour i couldnt see further than a few yards but the mist was only sitting at about four feet and as i stood up all the summits of the surrounding mountains was visible as if hundreds of little islands on the ocean
sitting back down i grabbed another log and placed it on the fire a grunt then another escaped the mist louder and louder closer and closer the sound growing and echoing all around the fire
From the bank of fog 5 deer emerged  their fur overed in white crystals all in amazing condition truly one of natures wonders
and as quickly as they had arrived at the fire they disappeared ..

the grunting and barking was still filling the wee glen then i watched as the mist drifted apart to reveal a huge stag his head tilted to the moon standing proud on  the rock he looked at me and the dogs and with a single bark leapt from the rock and he to was gone truly one of natures wonders.

Sleep began to overtake and my bed called so after checking the fire would be ok i headed with dylan and custard to bed

another magical filled day in the highlands had ended..
