Inspire Highland - Building for the Future
As a result of a growing and ageing population across the Highlands, the need for beds has increased by more than 30% since the 1980s. We've seen a similar increase in the need for our day care unit and our services in communities throughout the region. We know this rising demand will continue. In fact, we believe that to cope with the increasing complexity of life threatening illness, the growing and ageing population and developing technologies we need to expand our services by 20-40% over the next two decades.
Because of its age, location and structure it will not be possible for us to grow to such an extent at Ness Hosue, which means we will have to consider moving or developing and extending the existing site soon.
Despite all these changes we still hold the same vision as always, where access to specialist palliative care services and support is available equitably throughout the community and we will continue to keep this in mind throughout any developments that take place.
