Suffering today after doing well yesterday and even though we had trouble with the truck running low on diesel and clutch playing up the stress of the situation never got to us and we left with the shopping done and NO FAGS

The effects of 100+ fags a day for years is now begining to take its toll.
Mel admitted she stopped with me expecting me to only last an hour or
2 lol ,but we are now at 74+ hours and into the fourth day.

Save The River Doon

Why is the Doon under threat?
Scottish Power, a subsidiary of Iberdrola, a Spanish utility company, has the intention of reducing compensation flow in the River Doon from 45 million gallons per day to 28 mllion gallons per day and diverting yet more of the Doon’s water into the Kirkudbrightshire Dee.
The current compensation flow for the Doon was agreed as a result of water loss from the catchment when the Loch Doon dam was constructed. It is believed that the Doon currently loses 30% of its water - a greater percentage loss than for any other river in Scotland affected by hydro activity.
The Doon is the finest salmon river in Ayrshire, a fact which has significant economic benefits for the county, but also important social and recreational benefits too.
It would appear that Scottish Power has used the introduction of new legislation - the Water Frameworks Directive as a means of justifying its application. The hugely increased volume of water being transferred into the Dee would enable the company to generate more electricity and consequently income.
The reduction of flow to 28 million gallons of water per day would have a drastic effect upon the salmon stock of the river and also of other important species such as the endangered freshwater pearl mussel. This action would effectively finish the Doon as a salmon river of any consequence.

Why does God need so much money ????? faith healers

It is a little after 6.00am and as i go to get out of my bed the cold from clear the night sky rushes in to fill the space left . outside everything is covered in a white carpet of crystals .
To the East the morning sun begins her journey of life giving warmth and slowly at first the carpet retreats then quickens to disappear for another day.
I had a broken sleep last night after watching a programme by Derren Brown..

It was about Faith Healers and their greed .

It never ceases to shock me the size of audiences at these faith events and now they have crossed from America and are reaching out across the world with their lies and greed.
I find it so sad the amount of people that are searching for answers that are taken in by these bastards with the hype they create
I believe any one caught doing this should go to jail for many years they “pray” on the vulnerable and scared amongst us and with singing and booming voices achieve their true goal of ridding the audience of as much money as is possible , even to the extent that if the person is NOT healed it is their fault .BASTARDS…
In this modern world of instant answers and communication we forget to simply stand back from a problem and take the time to understand it .
One off the many tricks they use is auto suggestion simply by telling the person they feel no pain the pain goes , this is a trick i have used most of my life , that is why i believe we all have so much ability trapped within us if we would simply allow it out.
rather than that we put our trust in some smarmy git that has the ability to dupe so may people with false miracles and worse.

I believe that in us all is the ability to heal and if we come together we can do so much good across the world.

The same tricks are used by these people as the person selling us that Dream sofa ,Dream kitchen etc pay now and pay nothing for a year then SIMPLY pay it off over 4 years..

So many of our answers come from simply looking around at nature

Scottish highland artist Lynn Bennett-MackenzieBorn in 1967, Lynn Bennett-Mackenzie is an established artist living and working in north west Scotland. She was brought up in the remote rural areas of the Highlands of Scotland. Lynn studied at Gray’s School of Art graduating in 1990 and now has a workshop/studio on a picturesque croft, from where she also operates a thriving framing business She works in various media – oils, mixed media, watercolour & pen & ink. Her work is evocative of the Highlands and is inspired by the light, colours & stories of the area as is particularly evident in her pen & ink drawings. She has shown work in various exhibitions and taken part in community and international projects including The Big Picture, Wild Wood , Landfill art, and was recently invited to attend an International Art Symposium in Russia. Her work is innovative, original and versatile and she aims to capture an essence of emotion in her work, drawing the viewer in to the story that unfolds. Her work is intuitive and comes from within, drawing on her experiences from where she lives and from places and people she meets & visits. Her latest works focus on the invisible connections between us and the world at large. She is fascinated by the notion of what is around us that cannot be seen but often felt by some, faith, and the way people interpret consciousness & reality. Her work has been described as having a gentle beauty, softness and light and dynamism. Lynn hopes that her work will make people more aware of their own internal power and our ability to adapt and change.

Scotland to get 4G mobile broadband following new plans released by Ofcom « LTE Mobile Broadband

The latest proposals that have been outlined by the communications regulator, Ofcom could see mobile broadband coverage in Scotland considerably extended.

The auctioning of certain frequencies that were previously used for analogue television is being planned by the telecoms regulator, Ofcom and this will mean that new 4G or fourth generation mobile broadband technology could soon be making use of this additional spectrum.

As much as 95 percent of people in the UK could soon have access to high-speed mobile broadband services with one of the proposals that has been made to extend coverage.

The plans would benefit rural areas of Scotland the most even though the coverage would be the same for most aspects like text messaging and regular phone calls.

It is expected that the Treasury will make billions from the sale of the spectrum in the auction, which will be the largest of its kind, and the UK- wide license for 800MHz spectrum is likely to fetch the most as the ability to provide widespread mobile broadband coverage is its main feature.

The obligation to provide a mobile broadband service to 95 percent of users in the UK will be placed on whichever carrier wins the license according to proposals from Ofcom.

The consultation documents that have been released by the regulator current provide no specific figures regarding coverage in Scotland, although the extension of coverage to cover specific areas like some rural locations and certain major roads is something that Ofcom is seeking views on.

Even with 95 percent coverage for general phone use there is still only 90 percent of the UK population that are able to access the internet on their mobile handsets. The rural areas and locations with small populations in Scotland are currently the areas that are most affected by blackspots.

Matt Damon 'supports campaign to close SeaWorld'

“Matt Damon has pledged his support to a campaign attempting to close SeaWorld in Orlando, FL following the death of a trainer at the theme park on Wednesday.
Dawn Brancheau, 40, was maimed and killed by a whale named Tilikum during a show with the mammal at the aquarium.
Campaigners for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have since joined forces with celebrity Bob Barker to petition SeaWorld owners The Blackstone Group and appeal for its closure.
In a letter to Blackstone boss Hamilton James, Barker wrote: "The death of [the] trainer at SeaWorld did not have to happen, and I must appeal to you to take strong action now so that it never happens again. I urge you to make [a] humane move now and to start moving the captive orcas and other marine mammals to transitional coastal and wildlife sanctuaries.
"This is not the first time that a trainer has been seized, thrown against the walls of the tank, and held down to drown. I cannot imagine what the sight of such a hideous event would do to a child in the audience...The only thing that people learn from visiting a SeaWorld theme park is how miserable life is for animals held there."
Damon has now revealed his shock at the trainer's "horrible" death, insisting that marine mammal parks such as SeaWorld should be "shut down".
He told Entertainment Tonight: "I think they should just shut them all down. I've never been a fan of places like that."

Landscapes and seascapes

Scotland is a beautiful country, with enough variety to keep any photographer occupied for a lifetime. I’m passionate about the west coast and the islands around Scotland, so you’ll find plenty of images from places such the Outer Hebrides, Mull and further afield. In the summer of 2011 I’ll be going to St Kilda. I’ll certainly have my camera with me for that trip!

Cities

Edinburgh is the festival city. It’s home to the world famous Edinburgh International Festival, Fringe Festival and New Year Street Party. I love being part of the energy that festivals bring to the city, from the Canal Festival to the Edinburgh Mela, beach busks and torchlit processions. And from time to time, I stray into other cities with my camera too.

Scottish traditional music

I’m lucky to have access to such a variety of traditional music events to photograph. The annual Edinburgh Harp Festival, Ceilidh Culture, and the Scots Fiddle Festival are all right on my doorstep. Festivals such as Celtic Connections in Glasgow bring numerous world famous musicians to the city each year. Across Scotland there is also an enormous number of live music sessions in pubs, regular folk club events and ceilidhs, which provide plenty of more relaxed opportunities to take photographs of our amazing musicians in action.

Shindiggery | traditional music

We’re a large Edinburgh-based band playing traditional music. Our lineup includes fiddles, whistles, Scottish smallpipes, bodhran, button box, concertina, flute, guitar, octave mandolin and vocals. A big band with a big sound!

The band members first met through playing together in a weekly pub session in Edinburgh. A regular shindig in the Diggers, hence our name…

We’re lucky to know many musicians who write lovely music. We perform some of these tunes written by our friends alongside more traditional material.

Before i headed of today for our wee trip to Ullapool i noticed a wee pool under the old truck after checking it oot i found the water pump was leaking a wee bit , but as we were going to be heading doon the mountain i knew she would be ok and i could get some water on the way to keep the old wagon going .

I had to smile to myself as we headed off as the sun rose quickly i knew we were if for the warmest day of the year so far just oor luck lol.

Half way doon we stopped at a wee water fall to get water and check on the old girl

I believe so much in the healing qualities of the mountains and yet again something showed me i am right because after filling up the truck with the water from the river the leak stopped and the journey to Ullapool and home went without and further problems simply MAGIC.

Pulling into Ullapool today it was so good to see so many people about good news for all the shops ,pubs etc

As always we had a lovely visit to Ullapool meeting 4 new friends and Mel got four new empty sweet jars from our friends that run the Mace shop doon at the harbour

Rassberries , Blueberries and Sgurr Mor

Waking this morning a little after 2.00am the rain gently dances on
the bus roof.
I smile at the thought that all the plants i planted yesterday will be
drinking well. What a feeling the soil on your hands and as each plant
was placed in its new home bees would appear as if to inspect their
new food source. The wee birds rushing to claim their new perch and
singing as if to encourage the fruits. Yesterday i was treated to the
sight of clouds colliding with Sgurr Mor no matter the times i have
seen this it still fills me with awe. And from the clouds 16 deer made
their way doon to the loch . Love and light SCOTLAND
