The Hour a wee show on STV came to an end last week. We got an email from oor friend there that came up to make a wee film aboot us. He said there was a vote for all the films over the 2 and a half years and oors was 8th favourite mad .

Wow the hours that go into getting the simple life. The solar panels are all fitted and wired up . The spare batteries and petrol genny are aboard . The walls have 3 layers of insulation including the polystyren that the solar came rapped in.

Make a wee gate and shelf . Then wind genny doon. Then this afternoon
drag the old caravan oot and finish stripping it to turn into a wee
trailer to fit the wind genny on. But apart from that an easy day at

a final clean up so no sign we were here except some plants and then

Calor gas company uk. Customer service POOR . We ordered and paid
online for a refill for our bottle Tuesday last week started to worry
as no bottle by the weekend so sent an email to the local company .
They had no record of the order and asked us to phone today . So
phoned this morning at 9.00 am they said they would phone back . NO
RETURN CALL and they said they dont deliver this far out . So back on
the phone to calor ( more money ) they also said they would get right
back . Some 4hours later nothing . I will NEVER USE CALOR AGAIN..

I've had a whale of a time listening to your new CD. You've regained my faith in what I believed was the lost art of lyrical trumpet playing, with a GENUINE cantabile quality and not a harsh sound with an occasional bit of vibrato as some players do in pretence of playing 'in a lyri...cal style'. Not that it's just a CD of slow, lyrical playing as there are plenty of technical fireworks in the baroque pieces, but none of this would be effective without Matt's sympathetic registrations in accompaniment, allied to his own excellence in his solo pieces.
Well done and let's hope we have more recordings from the pair of you!

The recording really captures the amazing sound that you both make and the same as the live concerts you capture every emotion from sheer joy to the most heartfelt sadness. A trumpet in the dark
Last Saturday, Grant Golding and Matt Edwards gave a marvellously impressive concert in Lamlash Church, Matt demonstrating the sonorities of its magnificent organ coupled with Grant ‘s glorious playing of the trumpet. This outstanding musician sustained a horrific accident last autumn when on a sponsored Munro climb, suffering a broken leg and fractured skull that threatened his life, and it was in great thankfulness that a large audience listened spellbound to his soaring purity of tone. Coming to a trumpet piece played to a pre-recorded track that evoked the open-ness of moor and sea, Grant pointed out that Earth Hour was taking place, in which lights were being extinguished in a time-wave across the world, in recognition of our need for action on Climate Change. Lamlash Church was accordingly reduced to a single reading lamp for the trumpeter, taking its modest place with the more spectacular dimming of Las Vegas, the Eiffel Tower, the Forbidden City in Beijing, and the Egyptian pyramids. It was a strangely evocative experience. When the lights went on again we were into the exotic rhythms and braddadoccio of Carmen, where Matt Edwards managed to be a whole orchestra, backing Grant in brazen toreador mode. An astonishing evening. And in the darkened church, perhaps many a listener sent up a quiet prayer of thanks that Grant Golding is still alive and sharing his wonderful talents with appreciative audiences.

New Oyster wave device13/07/2011Wave energy developer Aquamarine Power today revealed the latest in leading edge hydro electric wave energy technology.First Minister Alex Salmond unveiled the next generation full-scale Oyster 800KW device at Burntisland Fabrications (BiFab) yard in Methil, Fife where it was built.The Oyster 800 can generate 250 per cent more power at one third of the cost of the first full-scale 315kW Oyster device (Oyster 1), which was installed and grid-connected at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) in Orkney in late 2009 and operated through two winters and delivered over 6,000 operating hours.The first Oyster 800 will now be transported by sea to EMEC for installation with another two being deployed in 2012 and 2013, linked to an onshore hydro-electric plant in a 2.4MW array.The Oyster 800 project has been supported with grant funding from Scottish Enterprise and the Carbon Trust Marine Renewables Proving Fund.Mr Salmond said:"Today is a significant day for Aquamarine Power and for Scotland's wider offshore renewables sector, which continues to develop a wide range of low carbon energy technologies to enable us to fully harness the huge energy resources around our own coast and contribute to global efforts to expand clean, green electricity generation."Aquamarine Power has made huge progress in less than two years since its first Oyster device was connected to the grid at EMEC - proving the technology and driving down costs - a testament to the vision, commitment and expertise throughout the company. I'm delighted that the Scottish Government and our public sector partners have been able to support the progress of this exciting frontier technology."BiFab is another Scottish success story which, by successfully delivering the Oyster 800 device, has underlined once again the skills of its workforce and its capability to manufacture a wide and diverse range of fabrications for offshore energy developers. Scotland is in the rapids of a renewables revolution and the delivery of the new, more efficient and powerful Oyster 800 device represents a new surge towards the deployment of commercially competitive wave power arrays to deliver clean, green energy."Martin McAdam, Chief Executive Officer of Aquamarine Power, commented:"The Oyster 800 is a significant advance on our first Oyster device. Key to unlocking this potential prize is continued support and innovation for the sector as it moves from a pre-commercial to commercial development stage."
