Sorry about the delay in getting this update together -- it's been a
furiously busy 24 hours, and an amazing week at Dale Farm and in the court!

On Friday in court, barristers for Dale Farm residents backed up by the
Gypsy Council, did a fantastic job before the Judge. It now looks like the
ground in parts of the former scrapyard cannot be dug up, so at least this
part will be saved from being turned into a rubbish dump:

At 4pm on Monday September 26, we'll receive a decision from the Judge about
the other arguments that were put forward, and we'll know if some other
plots at Dale Farm can be saved. The judge has also indicated that he is
open to a judicial review of the eviction, and we'll find out if this goes
forward. If it doesn't go forward, then the eviction could happen on
Tuesday morning, so please be ready to come down Monday night to Dale Farm.
If there is a judicial review, then the eviction will be delayed by several
more days.

We also learned a few more things: The judge said that Camp Constant and our
property cannot be removed by the Bailifs, including the two back
observation towers. However, Basildon Council keeps pressuring the judge to
give them powers to remove the front observation tower and scaffolding gate.
Tony Ball also admitted that he was continuing to pay for the rental of
heavy machinary, because their contract doesn't allow them to return it. It
is believed that the bungled operation is costing £1million/day.

We don't cost a million a day, but we do need some money. Just a fiver would

We have put one new event on-line with Booth Scotland since my last email:

Tuesday 8 November at 8 pm The Hunted - Visible Fictions' rather
scary-sounding variation on the Red Riding Hood story, not recommended
for very young children! (11+) Tickets are all £6

There are plenty of other events coming up before then, for most of

Thursday 22 September at 8pm, Karin Leitner, Richard Morrison and
Alina Bzhezhinska are due to give a recital of chamber music with a

I've always been a fan of the Union of Concerned Scientists because they
are scientists and they are concerned, so how bad can they be right? (By
the way, if anyone mentions that I believe in science I'll deny it, what
with the witch hunts and cultural revolution coming down the pike). Here's
a link to a great resource on electric vehicles of all sorts and the (gulp)
scientific information that should be considered with this new technology.
As always it's worth mentioning that public transport and bicycles are a
far better choice than anything. Enjoy.

We won in the court- but we still have nowhere to go

We have just heard the news that Dale Farm residents have won an injunction
in the court which postpones the eviction until at least Friday, 11.30am,
when the High Court will hear the case and make a decision on the eviction.
This is an important victory - it shows that pressure is working and that
Basildon Council is failing in its duty of care to the Dale Farm community.
Yet, the struggle to defend Dale Farm is not over. The extra week
intensifies the pressure on Basildon Council to work with the residents to
find an alternative legal site and to actually go through the proper process
and not resort to a forced eviction.

The recent offer from the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights to mediate
in the dispute still stands, and perhaps with additional pressure, we hope
Basildon Council will participate in negotiation to avoid an eviction. This
injunction comes soon after Europe's human rights watchdog released a
statement saying that long-term Traveller sites should be made legal even if
they may technically breach some planning regulations.

We are calling on supporters to come down to Dale Farm whenever they can -
especially on Friday when we hear the High Court's decision. Get in touch

the campaign. Dale Farm is easy to get to from London and is a very special
place.

inside the horse box it is warm due to all the hard work over the
summer . Even Mel has commented how warm the truck is. And although i
was at the scrapyard yesterday to get some bits to make a wee wood
burner this will be used to cook with. And again no heating bills in
the hovel.

Make do and mend

I love turning rubbish/broken items into things of use. The modern way
of things have to happen NOW is not for me . Time spent denailing wood
or trying to resolve a problem without simply buying the thing .
To me is what keeps me alert and happy

Time for a wee wander

After a few busy days time to grab the camera and the dogs and head
into the mountains. The time spent walking in the mountains no signs
no rules save survival has become more and more valuable. Love and
light

Residents believe that the bailiffs and the police may attempt some
sort of operation early tomorrow morning. This is a very stressful
time for a lot of the residents- they are being made homeless by their
own council. They need our support.

If you are able to come down tomorrow, please do. If not, come down as
soon as possible. The police and bailiffs may try to stop people from
coming on site, so be ready to find ways to get on- it's a big site
and should be possible.

We have also received intelligence that the bulk of the police
operation will start with a briefing on Sunday the 18th to prepare for
the 19th, and that the police operation is being run out of Boreham
police station. The operation is planned to last one week, but
officers have been asked to block 10 days off just in case. The
bailiffs are believed to be running their operation out of Basildon.
The council has said they will be cutting off electricity to Dale Farm
on the 19th, but we have had reliable information that in order to
interfere with our ability to get information out in advance, that
they are considering cutting off power from the 16th.

Wee Owlie Kidnapped ….

Hi my name is wee owlie until a few days ago i lived at the Blackbus on the side of Loch Droma in the wonderful highlands of Scotland.

While my family were of filming and visiting the wonderful sites i was left to guard the wee hame.

Well one dark night a van pulled in , i thought they were turning roon nut no, before i knew what was happening i was bundled into the back of the van and am old smelly cloth was placed over me.

I heard the doors closing as we sped of , that was as i said a few days ago and apart from some men lifting the cloth and discussing how much they would get for me doon south i have not seen the light of day .

I miss my family so much the morning visits from Chloe and Wilkie the wee cats their gentle rubbing and the wee chats , i miss the dugs as well dylan and Custard even though Custard would often cock his leg up and pee all over me , i knew he loved me

I just pray for the day i am back safe and sound with my loving family on the side of the loch .

I am so scared ……..
